“I have participated in the training courses under the title „Film the Change“. After these amazing 10 days in Nea Makri of constant learning and improvement, I have totally felt proud of myself. I was feeling that I am bringing home new skills and knowledge. The courses were pretty intense and useful as well. We were learning via making practical tasks most often. Before every new tasks, we had an introduction of the theory which we needed to adapt to our video work. In this way, we have learned a lot and I came back to Lithuania ready to use my new skills. All organizers were absolutely brilliant – they really did their best. Everything was well organized, including activities, accommodation, food etc. It was also very nice to be surrounded by creative, intelligent, skillful and motivated people from all around Europe and work and learn from them. I really liked this project and I hope to find more project like this in my near future.” – Vilija, Lithuania
“I am very happy to have had an opportunity like this to be the youngest participant of a wonderful “Film the Change” project. I learned many things about “guerilla” filmmaking and how to “make an impact”. Met very interesting and beautiful people from different parts of Europe. Exchanged thoughts, opinions, and ideas. I am very thankful for being challenged to step out of my comfort zone, this way I grow and become a better version of me. Thank you!” – Deimante, Lithuania

“I am impressed and inspired by the professionalism of the team, who created and performed this project. Perfectly organized activities in my opinion, even though I am not a big fan of very intensive educations, this one worked for me and I left with a feeling of satisfaction. The project gave me a stable structure, a pattern to follow in video-process. A pattern, which would be valuable in many other fields, actually. It made my confidence stronger and reinforced my will to continue working in the area of youth and sustainable life.I had the opportunity to meet many interesting young people with knowledge and interests in different areas and communication with them was a pleasure for me.” – Yoanna, Bulgaria
“As a film student I came already knowing some of the basics, but I was impressed by how quickly we covered them and were able to practice them. Film The Change went through all the important basics in pre-, pro- and post-production. I am glad to have participated in this project. I was able to put my knowledge into action and help others with my experience in filmmaking. I learned how to work in a team and how to create a social impact through video making. This project has inspired me to create meaningful content and to meet new people. I think it is great for everyone who is interested in filmmaking, with or without experience.” – Remona, Bulgaria

“I have never done social promotional videos before. Before this training course I didn’t even know where to begin, what would I need, what questions to ask and what is the overall process of video production. Film The Change was the perfect starting point to learn! The project was very well organized, with a ton of practical tasks, that taught me a lot about pre-production, production and post-production. But also I learned a lot about the importance of teamwork and the importance of having a healthy, stress-free workflow and attitude. Last but not least, each activity and each of the participants, trainers, and organizers helped me accumulate a ton of new ideas and inspiration.” – Teodora, Bulgaria

“This experience changed some aspects of my life. I gained more confidence in myself and in what I am able to do, I learned how to work and communicate with people, how to trust them and value their ideas, I managed to improve my English and other things that I discovered during the training course of Film the Change. To be truly honest, before to go to Greece I was afraid of the fact that I am going to meet there foreign people, I was afraid about the place, if I will feel integrated or not, about the travel and so on. But since the first moment I laid my feet on the greek ground till the last one, I haven’t felt any of the things I was afraid of.
More than that, there was not even a moment in which to feel left out. Again to speak the truth, this was the only place where, before knowing the people or the place, I felt integrated with the group project in each moment of the training course.
We were told from the very beginning by the trainers that they won’t teach us anything but the basic things and that they will only guide us and support us with things and advice that we need. We had to learn from each other by working in teams. And they kept its word. Working in different teams for each assignment led us to know each other better and to learn something, either it was something about our team collegue’s life or something about creating or editing a video.
Participating in this training course left us with a lot of positive things. We’ve learned things that we have never thought that is important in filmmaking that today we use very precisely. Also, we got to meet a lot of interesting and wonderful people with whom we are keeping in touch and share videos.” – Rudolf, Andra, Janette [Romania]
